Folded Optical (F-OPT) Structure |
An innovative approach to fluorescence microscope form and and function. |
| For more details, download the PRODUCT CATALOG by clicking the CATALOG icon above. |
| The BZ-8100 Series is a fluorescence microscope featuring a cold CCD color camera and various electronic controls. It has achieved exceptional operability by allowing full control of every electronic operation from a personal PC. Its all-in-one design is an innovation in fluorescence microscopy. |
F-OPT Structure |
| The optical path used for transmitting light and image formation is folded with mirrors, creating a space-saving structure that is optimized for the high-quality infinite optical system. |
Space-Saving |
| 12 x 17 inch Footprint with Simple Wiring |
| By optimizing the layout and design of the internal structure, the footprint has been reduced to about 40% of that of conventional models. Such a compact microscope can be used anywhere. |

No Need for a Darkroom |
| The Sample Enclosure Permits Fully Electronic External Control |
| To achieve full fluorescent imaging contrast, traditional fluorescent imaging must take place in a darkroom. With the BZ-8100 Series, however, darkroom-like enclosure can be achieved inside the unit, allowing the device to be installed anywhere. The picture-taking operation in the built-in “Sample Enclosure” can be fully controlled with the electronic XYZ axes stage, electronic optical zoom, electronic shutter, and electronic filter turret. |

Mercury lamp with long life and easy installation |
| By separating the upper and lower chassis of the device and making use of a cooling fan, the excess heat from the all-in-one design is completely dissipated. In particular, the temperature difference from the ambient temperature of a typical sample enclosure is limited to +3°C (+37.4°F) or less, even when the light is interrupted. |
The lamp life of the system is five times longer than that of conventional lamps at 2,000 hours. Moreover, the BZ-8100 Series requires only the insertion of the lamp unit without any alignment, while conventional fluorescence microscopes require an axis alignment of mercury lamps using 4 to 6 axes. |
| Antivibration design |
| The weight of the upper chassis has been reduced to lower the center of gravity, so that the influence of external vibration is minimized. A spring mechanism cancels the influence of vibration from the fan unit. |
| Pop-up type transmitted illumination unit |
| The transmitted illumination unit has a pop-up structure to make it easier to replace specimens or objective lenses. A gas damper prevents the unit from falling down under its own weight. The safe design turns off the illumination automatically when the unit is raised. |
Great Versatility |
| Bright-field, fluorescence, and phase-contrast observation |
Such a compact microscope offers three types of observation that can be easily interchanged.
* The bright-field and phase-contrast observation types require some manual settings by using transmitted illumination. |

Fully Electronic Control |
| Motorized Components Simplify Setup and Control |

| [1] Electronic shutter |
| Stage position and lens focus height are adjusted externally from a PC, allowing for hands-free examination of a target. |
| [2] Electronic XYZ axes stage |
| Stage position and lens focus height are adjusted externally from a PC, allowing for hands-free examination of a target. |
| [3] Electronic optical zoom |
| The optical zoom offers magnification between 0.5x and 3x by taking advantage of the resolution of the objective lens. A single lens with high N.A. covers various work from field adjustment to analysis using high magnification. |
| [4] Electronic filter turret |
| Four filter cubes (excitation filter, absorption filter, dichroic mirror) can be mounted and switched by electronic control. The filters can be changed not only from a PC but also from the unit itself. |
