F-OPT Structure

The optical path used for transmitting light and image formation is folded with mirrors, creating a space-saving structure that is optimized for the high-quality infinite optical system.

[1] Phase-contrast slit electronic switching mechanism
For phase-contrast observation, the phase-contrast slit is automatically switched according to magnification of the objective lens (between 20x and 40x).
[2] Electronic dimmer filter
The excitation light dimming ratio can be changed via PC. The dimming ratio can be selected in 5 levels by color, according to expression intensity and discoloration conditions of multi-dyed specimens. This safety design can reduce damage to specimens.
[3] Electronic shutter
When observation is suspended, the shutter for the excited light is automatically closed, preventing accidental fading of fluorescent specimens.
[4] Electronic XYZ axes stage
Stage position and lens focus height are adjusted externally from a PC, allowing for hands-free examination of a target
[5] Electronic filter turret
Four filter cubes (excitation filter, absorption filter, dichroic mirror) can be mounted and switched by electronic control. The filters can be changed not only from a PC but also from the unit itself.
[6] Electronic aperture control
During bright-field observation, the aperture can be changed by PC control.

No Need for a Darkroom

Built-in sample enclosure eliminates the need for a darkroom
Conventional fluorescence imaging requires operation in a darkroom in order not to lose the background contrast and image signals. However, with the BZ-9000, such operations are performed inside the unit, making it possible to install the system anywhere. The image capturing feature can be fully controlled with the electronic XYZ axes stage, electronic optical zoom, electronic shutter and electronic filter turret.

Space reduction of about 50%
By combining all of the elements of a conventional fluorescence microscope into an integrated unit, the footprint has been considerably reduced.

Six-Mount Electronic Revolver
Objective lens can be switched according to observation needs
Up to six different objective lenses(2x to 100x) can be mounted. Each lens can be switched with just a single click on the PC control screen, thus enabling quick and easy operation.
- Collision preventive function for lens switching operation (Automatic return to Z-axis)
- Suppressing vibration and visual field displacement during lens switching operation, resulting in stable operation

* Corrects visual field displacement with the electronic XY stage during lens switching operation.

Versatile Observation

Bright-field, fluorescence and phase-contrast observation
Despite its compact size, the BZ-9000 is able to provide up to three imaging modes. Changes to the light source, exposure time and filter setup can be done with a single click of the mouse.

Optimized cooling system Antivibration design
By separating the upper and lower chassis of the device and making use of a cooling fan, the excess heat from the all-in-one design is completely dissipated. In particular, the temperature difference from the ambient temperature of a typical sample enclosure is limited to +3°C (+37.4°F) or less, even when the light is interrupted. The weight of the upper chassis has been reduced to lower the center of gravity, so that the influence of external vibration is minimized. A spring mechanism cancels the influence of vibration from the fan unit.
Mercury lamp with long life and easy installation
The lamp life of the system is five times longer than that of conventional lamps at 2,000 hours.
