Category 4 compliant controller: Durability & Visualization |
Easy-to-read indicators |
| Operation can be checked easily because the ON/OFF status of all inputs and outputs can be seen at a glance. Moreover, the terminal block is clearly labeled for each function to prevent improper wiring. |

Non-contact safety output |
| Unlike conventional relay units that use mechanical contacts, the SC-S11 is free from failures caused by a fused contact. This ensures extreme durability, reducing maintenance and other costs. |

Easily set with DIP switches |
| With conventional relay units, it was necessary to change most of the wiring of the device that was connected to the safety input depending on whether it was connected to a contact output (emergency stop switch) or a PNP output (e.g. Safety light curtain). Moreover, interlock and EDM functions had to be configured with wiring. The SC-S11 allows all of these settings to be activated easily with DIP switches, helping to prevent improper wiring or setting. |

Safety input mode setting switch (SW1) |

Safety input mode setting
1: Contact output device connection (Initial setting)
2: PNP output device connection |

Function setting switches (SW2) |
| Each setting is set with two switches. |
Be sure to set both switches of each pair to the same position.
1. EDM is a function to detect the failure of an external device. |
Automatic reset mode |
| If the safety input is on when the power is turned on, the safety output will automatically turn on. If the safety input is turned from off to on, the safety output will automatically turn on. |
Manual reset mode |
| Even when the power is turned on or the safety input is turned from off to on, the safety output will remain off. A reset input is required to turn on the safety output. |
Various I/O functions |
| Lockout output |
| Users are notified when lockout occurs due to the failure of an external device or other problems. |
| Auxiliary output |
The ON/OFF status of the safety output is linked with the auxiliary output. This can be used to monitor the status of the SC-S11 with a general-purpose control PLC.
* These non-safety outputs support both PNP and NPN inputs. |
| External OFF input |
| This input is used to turn off the safety output with an external signal. This can be used to test whether the safety function works properly. |
| EDM input |
| This input is used to detect the failure (fused contact, etc.) of an external device. The normally closed contact of the external device is connected to this input. |
