Optical Illumination Technique - Adjustable-Angle Lighting

When viewing targets with textured surfaces, sometimes standard ring illumination cannot adequately capture the details on the surface. Light must be reflected off of a target at a shallow angle in order to enhance the texture.
KEYENCE’s VHX Digital Microscope Series is equipped with a Light Shift function that controls the direction of the light, adjusting between full and partial illumination. An adjustable illumination adapter can be attached to the lens to allow for the angle of the light exiting the lens to be changed.
