Interior sheets come in a variety of colors, materials, and even designs like mesh. Holes in the mesh and the changing of the sheet's color or material cause conventional reflective sensors to malfunction. The LR-T is not affected by any of these factors due to its innovative position based detection method and ability to increase its beam spot size to ignore holes.
Thrubeam type sensors needed to be mounted both above and below the press mold to detect material run out; however dirt and oil build up on the lenses can quickly cause malfunctions.
