The laser light is projected in a horizontal line by the cylindrical lens and diffusely reflects on the target object. This reflected light is formed on the HSE3-CMOS and by detecting changes in position and shape, profile shapes are measured. These profile shapes are then transferred to the XG-X controller to achieve image processing using 3D data.
For general 3D cameras, the light receiving element has a narrow dynamic range leading to measurement errors caused by the amount of light reflected from the target. The LJ-V Profiler can perform stable measurements without light saturation even if the amount of reflected light is large.
