CODING WITH A COMPACT BELT CONVEYER
A date coding station can be set up easily by using the continuous inkjet printer with a 1-m long belt conveyer.
Because you don’t have to integrate the coder and conveyor, dates can be coded reliably once a minimum space is secured. Coding is possible on both the top and sides of products.
The continuous inkjet printer supports various products such as cartons (before/after assembly), bags (with/without contents), and bottles. Clear and reliable non-contact printing enables you to respond immediately to unexpected demand.
CODING WITH A PILLOW TYPE PACKAGING MACHINE
Date and lot numbers can be non-contact marked in-line, eliminating inconsistent printing, packaging damage, and product damage.
Optimized coding algorithms allow for high-speed line tracking, enabling our printer to maintain excellent marks at practically any speed. Our continuous inkjet printer tracks line-speed based on encoder input signals. This allows us to mark on lines that are moving very quickly or that have varying linespeeds.

CODING ON MULTIPLE FILMS

Materials such as polyethylene films, where marks used to rub off, can now be permanently marked. PRINTING WHILE HEAT SEALING
Printing can take place at the same time as heat-sealing is performed to close a bag container. Traditional contact marking has damaged this type of packaging. IJP noncontact marking eliminates packaging damage while maintaining perfect marking.
PRINTING WITH A HOPPER LABELER
The MK-U can be quickly and easily installed or relocated on a bottle labeling machine. How does your IJP head attach and mount to existing machinery? KEYENCE's MK-U series has a one-touch attachment developed for quick and easy mounting of the print head.
The mounting plate is equipped with generic screw holes to provide simple attachment of the plate to surrounding structures. The MK-U head easily clips in and out of the mounting plate, being secured by tightening screws. This plate gives the user a flexible and stress-free approach to physical install.
PRINTING ON THE BOTTOM OF BOTTLES
When printing on the bottom of bottles or other containers, the print head must be mounted at an upward position.
The MK-U maintenance functions are used to proactively clean the print head, preventing clogging and ensuring stable operation. PRINTING ON BEVERAGE CARTONS
The MK-U6000 Series can be installed easily for printing on beverage cartons from the side. It was difficult to improve takt time with hot iron markers and stampers, but it is possible with an inkjet printer. The ink particle control function of the MK-U allows the print head to be mounted away from the marking surface yet still achieve perfect printed text. This type of non-contact marking allows for faster line speeds. The printer head can be mounted at 10 or 35 mm away from the target. Variable mounting distance coupled with an adjustable head cable makes installation for the MK-U simple.
PRINTING ON BULK MATERIALS
Large and clear characters are printed on bulk materials.
The inkjet printer provides clearer printing without chipping or blurring when compared to roller-type stamps.

The MK-U is also ideal for this type of application because of its dust proof qualities indicated by the IP-55 rating it has been given. Fine particulate, such as those present in bulk materials, will not ingress into the printer due its the dust tight design.
PRINTING ON HIGH-SPEED LINES
KEYENCE’s MK-U6000 is an inkjet printer that is capable of marking at speeds double that of a conventional printer, without any detriment to marking quality.
The MK-U Series uses a new charging control method when printing one or two lines. It automatically changes the order in which ink particles are placed according to the number of lines to be printed. This contributes to an improvement in productivity that could not be achieved with contact printing methods.
PRINTING ON DEFECTIVE CHIPS FOR WAFER TESTING
The printing head is mounted on a prober to print reject marks on defective chips. Conventionally, ink has been applied in a contact manner, however there have been some problems:
- - Expiration period of ink is short.
- - Running cost is large.
- - It is troublesome to adjust contact pressure.
- - A large diameter ink particle can mark outside of the intended target.
Non-Contact ink marking alleviates these problems by more closely controlling the placement and size of ink particles used.
PRODUCT SWITCHING USING BARCODES
Easy changeover of products is now possible by simply scanning a preregistered barcode. Now one line can support multiple products without time consuming reprogramming of the marking unit.
PRINTING ON BOTH SIDES OF CARDBOARD BOXES
Dual-side printing can be performed by the MK-U unit for products that require printing on multiple marking faces.
Multiple marks can be controlled by a single program and consequently one marking command control unit. These settings streamline marking scenarios that used to be time consuming.
PRINTING OF PROCESS CONTROL NUMBERS ON WHEELS
A lenient focal range makes marking on slightly rounded surfaces much simpler. The mark remains clear as it wraps around curved surfaces. The smaller print head is able to fit on lines where larger heads wouldn’t. This enables clear printing with minimized installation time.
