Generally, the conformal coating is transparent, which makes it difficult to identify the locations where it is applied. As such, it is possible to overlook defects in which the coating is not applied to some components. With coatings that include a fluorescent agent, it is possible to perform highly accurate inspections by projecting UV light and using the 21 megapixel camera.
