How does a CMM work?

A probe is used to acquire multiple points on a part surface and map their X, Y, and Z coordinates for measurement. Conventional CMMs are not designed for operation on the shop floor and require regulated environments such as a quality lab.
What makes the XM Series unique?

A new type shop floor CMM that requires no CNC programming and has no moving parts, so anyone can easily take 3D/GD&T measurements, anywhere, including harsh shop floor environments.
