Please use this page as a guide for items to prepare when requesting programming assistance from your KEYENCE representative for the LJ-S8002, LJ-X8002, or LJ-X8000E controllers.
This guide will review how to create a back up of your program and capture images to send to your KEYENCE representative.
If you have not connected with your local KEYENCE representative for support before, please discuss with them first to see if these steps will be necessary.

Items to prepare
If you do not have these software already, please download and install the software below.

Step 1: Back up the program from the controller to the PC
Connect the controller to the PC with the Simulation Software via USB and download the program you are requesting assistance on.
This will create a virtual back up of the program(s) on the PC called a workspace. Only the first video is necessary for most situations to back up a single program.
If a full back up of all program settings is desired, the second video will show the procedure.
1-1 Save the current inspection settings.
Save the inspection settings currently in use.
1-2 Save all the inspection settings.
Save all the inspection settings on the controller.
*This will take a long time if there are a lot of inspection settings.
Step 2: Capture images to include with the program
After the program download is complete, open the Terminal Software.
Depending on your inquiry, it will be important to provide images that demonstrate what you’re looking to resolve.
For example, if you would like help detecting different types of failure conditions, capture images of known good parts, and images of each type of failure condition.
Be sure to include barely good and barely bad parts in this sample as well. If you are sending over 5 images, create a list summarizing the failure conditions present on each image.
2-1 Save the image for each trigger.
Save all images captured by each trigger to a PC.
*Depending on the speed, it may not be possible to save all the images.
2-2 Save the image each time an NG result occurs.
Save images to a PC for which the captured image results in a NG result.
Step 3: Import images into Simulator
Importing images
Import the images saved in step 9 into the simulator.
Step 4: Send the workspace to your local KEYENCE representative
Ask your local KEYENCE representative for a link to share large documents.
Alternatively, use the FileTransfer-MEA software to upload the workspace to a server for your local KEYENCE representative to access.
Please note that only program related files will be transferred and this application will only operate when sharing with KEYENCE America employees.
Under the Language/Model selection button, be sure to select LJ-S if using the LJ-S8002 controller. Select LJ-X if using the LJ-X8002 or LJ-X8000E controller.
Upload workspace to file transfer server
Step 5: Receive a workspace from your local KEYENCE representative.
Ask your local KEYENCE representative for a link to share large documents.
Alternatively, use the FileTransfer-MEA software to download the workspace from your local KEYENCE representative.
Download workspace from file transfer server
Step 6: Upload the new program to the controller.
Please note that if you have the same program numbers in your workspace as are running live on your controller,
your program will be overwritten. If any additional back ups of your program need to be performed, please refer to Step 1 on this page.
6-1 Upload inspection settings of an individual inspection program from a PC onto the controller
Upload the inspection settings of a specific program from a PC to the controller.
6-2 Upload inspection settings of all inspection programs from a PC onto the controller.
Upload the inspection settings of multiple programs from a PC to the controller.
