Measurement Examples: AviationPortable and handheld 3D scanner and dimensional probing system

With a measurement range of up to 25 m 82.0', single-person measurement is possible for various large targets.

This wide range makes the WM valuable in diverse applications.

Wide Area Coordinate Measuring Machine WM Series

Common Problems with Conventional SystemsScanning takes too long Solutions with the WM SeriesUnparalleled scanning speed

01Measurement range

Conventional systems: The limited range of motion makes reaching desired locations difficult. The measurement range is insufficient. Sticker application and stripping are necessary. WM Series: Large targets can be measured as is in one go. Measurement is possible over a wide area of up to 25 m 82.0' using the handheld probe. Two probes: 25 m 82.0' or 10 m 32.8'.

02Product compatibility

Conventional systems: Glossy products are difficult to scan. Black products are difficult to scan. WM Series: Glossy and black products can be easily scanned thanks to the industry’s first violet laser.

03Pre- and post-measurement preparation

Conventional systems: Sticker application and stripping are necessary when stitching data together. Some products have to be sprayed before measurement. WM Series: Installation takes just 2 minutes. Simple setup just by placing the camera on the tripod. No pre- and post-measurement preparation such as applying stickers or spraying products.

04Repeated movements during scanning

Conventional systems: Scanning requires going back and forth between the PC and the product multiple times. WM Series: Scan results can be checked on the spot. The probe monitor can be used just as with a PC, so no going back and forth between the PC and the product.
