First Step Importing a Workspace

How to import a workspace file into the CV-X Simulator software.

Area

Presence/Absence inspection by counting the number of white or black pixels on a binary image.

Blob

Count, sort, locate and analyze clusters of white or black pixels extracted from a binary image.

Grayscale Blob

Counts & analyzes clusters of lighter or darker pixels that are detected based on a specified intensity difference compared to the average background intensity.

Defect

Detects & analyzes areas with a specified intensity difference by comparing the average intensity in smaller segments to the neighboring segments.

Pattern Search

Detects & locates a specified grayscale pattern which can also be used for position adjustment for other tools.

PatternTrax™

Detects & locates a specified pattern based on intensity changes along the outline which can also be used for position adjustment for other tools.

ShapeTrax™3A

Detects & locates a specified pattern based on edge feature information around the profile of the target which can also be used for position adjustment for other tools.

Position Adjustment

Used to adjust the position of tool inspection regions to account for target movement within the field of view.

Edge Position

Locates the position of an edge and/or counts the number of edges present.

Edge Angle

Measure the line angle generated from two detected edge points.

Edge Width

Detect multiple edges withing the inspection region and measures the distance (width) between two specified edges.

Edge Pitch

Measure the gap (width) or center pitch from pairs of detected edges.

Edge Pairs

Measure the gap (width) or center pitch from pairs of detected edges. Allows two different edge detection conditions

Profile Defect

Detect abnormalities (defects) that exist along the edge of a line, circle, oval or complex shape.

Profile Position

Detects the minimum and maximum edge positions along the profile of the target.

Profile Width

Multiple edge width measurements are perform along the profile of a target.

Intensity

Measures the average, deviation, minimum and maximum grayscale intensity of a specified area.

Color Detection

Measures the average, deviation, minimum and maximum RGB intensity or the HSB values of a specified area.

1D/2D Code Reader

Detect and inspect 1D and 2D barcodes. The read text can be output and judgements can be perform including referencing date & time.

OCR / OCR2

Extracts character information within the inspection region and determines the character string present by comparing to the library.

Measurements & Dimensions

Dimensional type measurements can be performed easily by clicking on points, lines and shapes within the field of view.

Image Region Generator

Generates a freeform inspection region based on the shape of the part that can be utilized by other inspection tools.
