Connection example

DL Series network communication units can be used to connect D-bus–compatible displacement sensors.

  • Multiple D-bus–compatible displacement sensors can be connected to a single communication unit.
  • Different models can be connected together.
  • Cannot be connected together with FD-S/FD-MH Series D-bus–compatible flow sensors or SK-1000 electrostatic sensors.

  • A network-compatible unit or board is required for PLCs and PCs.
  • One-to-one connections are possible with RS-232C (DL-RS1A) connections.

Typical connection example

Using a DL Series communication unit makes it possible to collect and manage various information from D-bus–compatible displacement sensors. This allows for the construction of information systems for status monitoring, predictive maintenance, changeovers, production management, and more.

The following example includes network-connected displacement sensors.

Simplifying setting changes, product variety registration, and changeovers

With conventional systems, adjusting each sensor was necessary whenever the product type or target height changed. Network connectivity makes it possible to transfer parameters for specific product types all at once using a touch panel. Parameters for new products can also be added by importing sensor settings to the PLC.
