What are the main responsibilities of the Strategic Marketing department?
The main role of the Strategic Marketing Group is to help support the strategy and sales team of a product line. This can come in the form of setting sales goals, defining territories, or creating dashboards for transparency amongst the team. It’s a unique blend of being able to not only identify and uncover trends in the current process, but also effectively communicate those amongst different groups.
What do you like about your role as a manager?
The best part about being a manager is getting the opportunity to share my experience along with coaching and developing teammates. Within my time at KEYENCE, I have had the opportunity to take on lots of different roles and gain valuable experiences. As a manager, I can share those experiences with my team to help them develop. Helping someone else progress and grow their career is easily the most rewarding part of the role.
What do you like about working at KEYENCE?
My favorite part about working for KEYENCE is always feeling invested in, and never just a number. I’m someone who is most engaged when I am learning or trying something new. From learning a new product, a new role, or going through the management development program, KEYENCE has provided opportunities for development at every step at the way.
How have you been successful in moving up in the organization?
I would say it boils down to a combination of wanting to be a good teammate, and not wanting to be complacent. I played a lot of sports growing up, and teamwork is something that was instilled in me at a very young age. I always strive to be someone that you can rely on to get a job done, and get it done well. I am always looking to improve and grow, so even if there is an opportunity outside my comfort zone, I don’t hesitate to try it.
Any message you would share to prospective applicants?
Be a sponge! No one comes into the job day one ready to go, which is why KEYENCE invests a lot of time and resources into your onboarding and training. There is a lot of great hands-on training to start your career that will put you on the path to success. My best advice would be to come in willing to learn and take feedback and advice earnestly. Be willing to step outside your comfort zone and try something new.
