What are the main responsibilities of the NSS department?
The National Sales Support (NSS) team is your office partner and sales support advocate! The range of agile support includes, but is not limited to, fielding technical support calls/emails, processing sales special pricing requests and quotes, handling shipping needs, maintenance requests, lead generation/contact entry, and office management.
What do you like about your role as a manager?
The team! KEYENCE hires amazing people and it is a joy to work with them and interact on a daily basis. Additionally, I love having the opportunity to add value in various ways. Under my direction, it is an amazing feeling seeing NSS efforts make a lasting impact to the company via our projects and day to day support.
What do you like about working at KEYENCE?
Prior to working at KEYENCE, I was in the car rental business for six plus years. It was such grueling work both physically and mentally. Work-life balance was non-existent; a 60-hour workweek was a light week. At KEYENCE, they value their employee’s work-life balance. How have you been successful in moving up in the organization?
Due to KEYENCE’s promote-from-within structure, employee development is taken very seriously. My manager was motivated to ensure my development was prioritized. I was able to grow over time because my manager reinforced performance accountability, had consistent one-on-ones with me, and incrementally increased my responsibilities. I was able to become more valuable to the company due to my increased experience and skill. My manager wanted to leverage my talents and position me to be the first NSS department manager. Now that I am manager, I can motivate my team and expand the department’s management track. I am able to create positions for project and people managers so my team knows there is a strong career development path for them to achieve.
Any message you would share to prospective applicants?
KEYENCE invests a lot in its people and as long as you invest back, you will succeed.
