YVO4 laser welding

YVO4 laser welding is a type of solid-state laser welding that uses an yttrium orthovanadate crystal for the laser medium.

Regarding the amount of energy required for material processing, oscillation from a YVO4 laser is inferior to a YAG laser. However, the high-output energy amount is notably more stable than YAG lasers. This enables welding at high looping frequency (pulses per second), which means high-speed welding with reduced heat effects is possible so long as the energy satisfies the material’s processing threshold.
