Quantitative analysis of adipocytes

Adipocytes are composed of droplets of fat called adipose tissue, and can be classified into two types - white adipose tissue (WAT) and brown adipose tissue (BAT). Each cell of white adipose tissue contains a single large fat droplet that stores fat. Brown adipose tissue cells contain numerous smaller droplets that burn fat to generate heat.
If white adipose tissue grows in size due to obesity, adipocytes become dysfunctional, which can lead to the onset of certain diseases.

Once you have the BZ-X:

For large sections that cannot be fully displayed in a single field-of-view, the BZ-X can stitch together multiple images at high resolution by moving the stage.

Even for tilted specimens or specimens that have differences in height, by capturing multiple images in the Z direction and stitching together only the parts that are in focus, it is possible to create an image in which the entire specimen is in focus.

Each closely-spaced adipocyte can be extracted and counted using Hybrid Cell Count measurement software.

The conditions used to calculate and measure adipocyte distribution can be applied to rapidly process a batch of multiple images.
