Character recognition (OCR) on die-cast parts

Character recognition (OCR) using conventional vision sensors is difficult on cast surfaces and other textured, uneven surfaces. Character reading also becomes unstable if the surface is dirty. The LJ-S8000 Series 3D Laser Snapshot Sensor uses height information to generate 3D images for OCR, allowing for stable reading even on uneven or contaminated surfaces.
