Reading 2D codes on multiple workpieces arranged on a tray, such as FPCs (Flexible Printed Circuits) and small electronic components, is a major challenge for improving productivity. The conventional method of reading one by one lengthens takt time, and reading errors can lead to line stoppages.
The KEYENCE AI-powered code reader, SR-X Series, is the optimal solution to these challenges. Equipped with a wide field of view and a high-resolution CMOS sensor, it achieves 'bulk reading' by capturing multiple codes on a tray at once. It can perform instant and stable reading even if the workpieces are slightly misaligned.
The newly developed algorithm in the SR-X Series demonstrates overwhelming reading performance even for challenging codes such as microscopic codes on FPCs and low-contrast DPM (direct part marking). This minimizes misreads to the utmost limit and allows for the construction of a highly reliable traceability system.
