In picking and inspection tasks in warehouses, factory production lines, and logistics processes, manual reading using handheld computers can become a productivity bottleneck. Work is interrupted each time a code is read, and there is also a risk of human error.
This hands-free reading application solves these challenges. As shown in the image, a KEYENCE 1D/2D code reader, SR-2000 Series, is installed on a workbench or shelf. The operator simply places a container or part in a designated position, and the reader automatically scans QR codes and other codes on slips or products. This frees up the operator's hands, allowing them to concentrate on their primary tasks and dramatically improving operational efficiency.
The SR-2000 Series features an ultra-wide field of view and a long focal length, covering a wide area with a single unit. It can instantly read codes at various positions within a container, adapting to the operator's movements. It is also robust against challenging codes, such as those under vinyl or with faded print, ensuring stable operation. It eliminates manual reading errors and recording omissions, contributing to the establishment of accurate traceability.
