Improving the efficiency of shipping inspection work in distribution warehouses and delivery centers is a challenge for many sites. In particular, the method of scanning multiple products of various types loaded on a roll cage one by one with a handheld computer takes a long time and always carries the risk of shipping errors due to missed scans.
This challenge is solved by a "batch reading" solution using a fixed-mount code reader. As shown in the image, a code reader installed at the top of an inspection gate instantly reads the barcodes and QR codes of multiple products inside a passing roll cage all at once. This allows workers to complete the inspection work while walking, without stopping the cart.
KEYENCE's SR-5000 Series logistics code reader is ideal for realizing this mechanism. With its overwhelming reading range and deep depth of field, it can stably read the codes on cardboard boxes placed randomly or stacked in multiple layers inside the roll cage, regardless of their position or orientation. Its high-speed reading performance improves productivity and eliminates shipping errors without slowing down the work speed. It also contributes to strengthening traceability and achieves operational improvements that dramatically enhance logistics quality.
