Part numbers are checked visually before assembly and processing. However, it is difficult to distinguish between part numbers that vary only slightly, which leads to incorrect part number confirmation, a common problem. Reading part numbers with a handheld computer fully prevents incorrect part assembly. It is also possible to link operation with PLCs and other equipment.
