Fine Color Processing extracts a color's hue, saturation, and brightness. The XG Series Trend Edge Stain tool detects edges and compares their location to a reference model. Even chips that do not cause a noticeable difference in diameter are extracted as flaws due to their distance from the reference model.
Trend Edge Width was used to detect chips on the rims of bottles. Minor variations in widths could not be compensated for, making small flaws impossible to detect. The Trend Edge Stain tool of the XG Series compares contours instead of absolute diameter values, therefore detecting any variations on the contour of the rim.
