CS-L series - Linear Cylinder Sensor

The new CS-L from KEYENCE focuses on visibility, easy install, and simple wiring. This is the world’s first linear cylinder sensor with a bar LED. The LED makes it possible to view the live piston position down to a resolution of 1 mm (3.94 mil). This sensor is mounted top-down on the cylinder, eliminating any disassembly to attach, remove, or adjust the sensor. The sensor can also be set via the push of a button as the sensor covers the length of the cylinder's stroke. Cycle time and downtime can now be reduced with impact level and stroke time information being provided from the sensor. Wiring is cut in half by providing 2 outputs from each sensor down a single wire. Loose wires or M8 connectors make integration into any setup easy.

A large indicator light runs the full length of the sensor, delivering instant, real-time visibility of piston position for faster setup and simplified troubleshooting.

Easy Setup with 2-Point Teach

Unlike traditional cylinder sensors, no tedious alignment adjustments are required to ensure an output from the cylinder. Simply press the button to create a set point at the desired location of the stroke. Easily lock the settings into place to avoid unwanted changes after set up.

Install Without Cylinder Removal

Utilizing top-down installation, the CS can be installed without taking a cylinder off the machine. Simply press into the slot and tighten down.

Indicates Cylinder Performance

Cylinder sensors can output the position information of the piston and the impact level, providing benefits in a wide variety of situations such as the calculation of cylinder stroke time and the early detection of device problems.

High-Functionality Amplifier Accessory

When required, utilizing the amplifier allows for customization of sensor settings. The amplifier can be disconnected after settings are configured (if only 2 outputs are necessary) or remain on the machine permanently.

Adjustable Set Point Window

Using the high functionality amplifier, any output window can be made larger or more precise to avoid errors from external factors.

Create a 3rd Output

Set a third output on the cylinder for applications where positioning is required to operate smoothly, using the high functionality amplifier.
