I want to use the audio guide from the touch panel.

The VT5 has an audio guide function that reads out the set sentences. This section explains how to play back the audio guide by tapping a switch.

Setting procedure

1. From the menu, select [Parts] -> [Switches/Lamps] -> [Switch], and then place a switch.

2. Open the setting screen of the switch, and then set the switch function to “Audio playback (PC synthesis)” or “Audio playback (VT synthesis).”
The differences between PC synthesis and VT synthesis are as follows.

Item PC synthesis VT synthesis
Allows for
  • Reading of fixed text
  • Reading of alarm messages
  • Reading of fixed text
  • Reading of device values
  • Playback of audio files
  • Reading of the date and time of playback
Data capacity If the amount of text for audio playback is small, the data capacity is lower for PC synthesis.
Up to playback time of 5 seconds × 72 items, the data capacity is lower for PC synthesis. Past this threshold, the data capacity is lower for VT synthesis.

Before using PC synthesis, install the text-to-speech database.

The example settings in the following figure are for using VT synthesis and playing back the audio message “The current production quantity is (device value of DM0) piece”
You can also adjust the narrator as well as the speed, tone, and volume of the audio.
